My name is Lori. I live in Tennessee with my husband, son, and daughter. My husband was my high school sweetheart and has been my best friend for over 13 years now. I have no idea where I would be without him. I graduated from The University of Tennessee (GO VOLS!!) with my Masters in Elementary Education and my Reading Specialist Liscense. Teaching is one of my favorite life-long passions. I've taught a little of everything- 4th grade, 6th grade language arts, 4-year old preschool, and next year I'm going back to 4th grade. I have taken off and taught preschool for the last 3 years to stay at home part time with my babies, but I couldn't be more excited about going back to school full time. I taught in a Pre-Pinterest time- can you imagine such now??? I've decided to start this blog as a way to connect with other teachers and also as a kind of journal for my teaching hits and misses.
My absolute passion is literature. I am, myself, a life-long reader and my main goal as a teacher is to help develop a love of reading in my students. I think the best way to do this is to share high-quality children's literature with them and give them lots of successful individual reading time. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey!
